What a difference a year makes!
Janine and I celebrated our anniversary recently and I realized another year had passed, and what a year it was. Beside getting married, retiring, and becoming the President of Rotary, which were all positive, I also experienced the loss of my sister and a few close friends.
Everyone would agree that a year can be a long time, but sometimes they seem pass so quickly. Many Past Presidents have told me that their year as president went by like a freight train. My hope is that we all remember this year as one of advancement and prosperity.
In the past year, positive activities have happened in Steubenville. We heard about many of them at our meetings. Employment and entertainment have all been enhanced locally. The gas and shale industry has begun to expand and will surely continue to do so. The First Friday events have been a great success hosting huge crowds every month. The concert season has also continued to draw hundreds of attendees every Thursday. Steubenville is a great place to live!
As Rotarians, we need to be promoters of our area. Our positive impact on our community starts with a positive word. Get involved and make this year one to remember.
